19-12-2018 Dizzy Moon 13: The Bullfight + Adrienne

19 December 2018 @ 21:00

13th and last edition of 2018 of singer-songwriter series Dizzy Moon, hosted by Mark Ritsema and powered by Popunie. Free entrance.

The Bullfight
Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits hatten eine Wustenorgie in den Dutch mountains,’ wrote the German magazine Ox about The Bullfight, the pop-noir sextet that is based in Rotterdam and surroundings. ‘Drenched in a terrifying beauty,’ added Dutch Magazine Revolver. The core of The Bullfight is formed by singer and lyricist Nick Verhoeven and guitarist, keyboard player, producer and songwriter Thomas van Vliet, assisted by a loyal band. Whimsical folk with classical influences, dark chanson, vaudeville and a touch of americana make a darkly colored background for Verhoeven’s often sinister and shady stories. The Bullfight released five albums and recently initiated an album/art book project called The Murder Ballad, to be released in 2019.

Nick Verhoeven – vocals
Thomas van Vliet – guitar, keyboards
Tim Moerkerken – keyboards
Andre van den Hoek – drums
Esther Vroegindeweij – violin
Eddy Kuijpers – double bass

Adrienne
Autobiographical dream pop is the best way to describe the music of Adrienne. She made a recent name change and released her first ep Be A Nobody in 2017 under the name Lysa Anne. A record that found its place in the prestigious top 100 of Gielstalentenjacht. Adrienne finds a small and intimate room the best place to bring her folky songs that are mainly based on personal experiences, sung with a strong yet sensitive voice that will mesmerize you.

Adrienne – vocals, guitar
