Brazilian Giants II — Edu Lobo
Saturday, September 5 — 9:30 PM
For the second edition of Brazilian Giants, artist in residence Jan Dumée turns the spotlight on one of Brazil’s great musical minds: Edu Lobo.
Edu Lobo is an extraordinary composer, singer, guitarist and arranger whose music has become an essential part of Brazil’s musical heritage. His compositions draw from the rich traditions of samba, bossa nova, baião and the music of northeastern Brazil, combining beautiful melodies with sophisticated harmonies and a distinctive sense of rhythm.
This special evening brings together a remarkable group of musicians to explore Lobo’s music from a fresh and personal perspective. Rather than simply recreating the original recordings, the band will delve into the depth and versatility of his compositions, allowing the music to breathe and take on new colours.

The result is not a traditional tribute, but a musical encounter — bringing together different voices, backgrounds and personalities to rediscover the work of Brazil’s great composers.
