AZZ GIANTS by Alberto da Moreno #visualart #exhibition
From 26 June to 9 July Jazzcafé DIZZY exhibits “JAZZ GIANTS” a selection of hyperrealistic paintings by Alberto da Moreno (1953) (curated by his daughter Camille de Bruin) which will be on display at Jazzcafé DIZZY during NSRT.
DIZZY visitors who have been around for a while might remember that this singing painter could also be found in DIZZY about thirty years ago with his paintings of Jazz musicians.
You may have previously seen Alberto’s paintings at the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam, North Sea Jazz and the AAA gallery, among others.
Alberto says he paints Jazz musicians in particular because the energy of the music creates beautiful images in the musician’s facial expressions and overall expression. Alberto paints these fragments of the moment mainly in sepia, where he plays around with shadow effects and light/dark contrasts.
Curious? Then come to Dizzy between 26 June and 9 July to view his work up close.
On Sunday 2 July, there will be a party dedicated to this exhibition (which will then be on display for just another week!) in which various parties will be involved. Come meet the artist! Save the Date!
