“Duo Tundmus meets the Band” is a new musical endeavour by long-time friends and collaborators pianist Lisanne Pappel and singer Gloria Elisabeth Jörberg. Duo Tundmus was born in Estonia 2022, where the two young musicians studied together. In 2023 Lisanne started studying in the Conservatory of Amsterdam and Gloria joined her in the Netherlands a year later, when she started her studies in Codarts. And that’s where they met the band: the wonderful Tiago Greenleaf on the drums and Johnnie Elza on the double bass. The duo composes music inspired by the traditional jazz of the 1930s – 50s, while staying true to their roots and adding an Estonian flare to the music. “Tundmus” – an Estonian word that roughly translates to “feeling or sensation”, encapsulates the duo`s inspiration – the dimness of a jazz club, the beauty of Estonian nature and the philosophical dilemmas of everyday life.
