Marcelo Café is a singer, composer and cultural producer from Rio de Janeiro, based in Ceilândia, graduated in French Letters at the University of Brasilia.
He is one of the leading voices of Samba in Brasilia and main enthusiast of Samba Rock in the city. Artist awarded in the Federal District, winner of the Festival Brasília Independente da Globo D.F in 2016, winner of the Festival Finca-UNB in 2017, winner of the Festival da Rádio Nacional in 2018, awarded the Medal of Honor for Cultural Merit Mestre Seu Teodoro by the Secretary of Culture of the District, in 2023.
Consolidated in the scene of Samba and accompanied by excellent musicians who form his band, for more than 15 years, in addition to his also brings to the stage unforgettable interpretations of classics from Samba and Samba Rock.
Marcelo Café is known for its cultural militancy and the causes of negritude as well as for its forceful, poetic and creative compositions about black ancestry. He has two albums on the streaming networks: After Samba, in 2016 and A Revolução é Preta, in 2021. This last one, homonym of the song that is already sung in the Samba Wheels and performed in the Radios of the Federal District and champion song of the Finca 2017.
