Mofos Quartet is a dynamic jazz ensemble formed at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, blending original compositions with innovative arrangements of jazz standards. The group features Alper (drums) and Ege (guitar), long-time friends from Turkey who grew up playing music together, joined by Emil Novotny (bass) and Evan van der Feen (piano), both fellow conservatory students. Drawing inspiration from jazz legends like Duke Ellington, Bill Evans, Barry Harris, Egberto Gismonti, and Paul Motian, the quartet crafts a sound that is both rooted in tradition and boldly contemporary. Their performances highlight an engaging interplay of creativity and improvisation, offering a fresh perspective on modern jazz.
