Oleg is a young Russian jazz trumpet player, composer and arranger. Based
in Amsterdam since 2019, he is involved in the local jazz scene as a sideman,
performing with various bands such as Peter Beets New Big Band, Guus
Tangelder Big Band and Bop This!.
During his study at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Oleg assembled a
new project which presents his view to modern jazz and shows his original
compositions. In this music such jazz movements as cool, post-bop and
contemporary are combined with impressionism while improvisational
approach blends with compositional elements of classical music. The
storytelling nature of his songs gives the performances a theatrical flavour and
deeply immerses the audience into stage atmosphere.
Starting with performances in local jazz clubs and theatres the band keeps
shaping their style and developing the music material. In 2023 they
participated in Keep An Eye: Rough Diamond Series concert on the main stage
of Bimhuis. Moreover, they recorded a set of new tunes for their debut album
"Autumn Colours" which is going to be released this fall on the 25th of
October.
