Petter Dalane is a Norwegian pianist and composer, known from the Cosmic Swing Orchestra, Petter Dalane Quintet, and Get Your Goat, as well as the concert series Petter’s Jazz Jam. He has a background from NTNU Jazzlinja and, in 2023, he received the NTNU Ambassador Award, a title he shares with others such as Maria Kannegaard, Espen Berg, and Håkon Mjåset Johansen.
The Petter Dalane Quintet plays original music inspired by the likes of Thelonious Monk, Chick Corea, and Béla Bartók. The playful, unpolished, and borderline rowdy interplay gives the band a unique sound, resulting in music that seeks a balance between the traditional and the experimental, between the accessible and the esoteric. The band released their debut album “Quintet” in April 2024 to great reviews!
