Terra Trio was formed by Brazilian musicians who are based in Holland. The group is known by its music that unifies the traditions of their country with the musical personality of the musicians. The repertoire is made of classics of samba and choro. The trio has performed in many places around Europe, Latin America and Asia. Today, with a new formation, made up of vocals, two acoustic guitar and percussion, the group addresses the songs with an acoustic approach, enhancing the subtleties of the Brazilian Music, and the richness of the harmonies.
Marcelo Godoy – vocals and acoustic guitar
Marcelo Godoy is a singer and composer, “mineiro” from Montes Claros, one of the most important cities in the north of Minas Gerais, Brazil. It is a place where several musical influences of Brazil get together. For many years he was a member of famous folklore group “Banze” which he performed on many tours around Europe.
Nelson Latif – cavaquinho and acoustic guitar
Cavaquinho and acoustic guitar player Nelson Latif formed his musical identity in the legendary jazz scene of 1980’s São Paulo. With roots in choro and jazz, Latif merges Brazilian styles and a classical guitar technique with diverse musical influences.
Alberto de Souza – percussion
Alberto de Souza was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He has played with numerous well-known Brazilian artists, has performed for radio and television and has contributed to dozens of CD recordings.
