The Ante Medić Octet is an energetic, out-of-the-box experience created by a band that aims to push the boundaries of contemporary jazz.
We are a forward-thinking collective that stretches the creative confines and avoids the comfort zone, aiming for uncharted musical territories. Our sound and presence fuse the electric energy of a power trio with the intricate harmonies of a horn quintet. Some of the group’s wide array of influences include artists like Maria Schneider, Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix, and Aphex Twin.
After winning the Incentive Prize and the Best Soloist Award at the Keep An Eye Jazz Award 2023 at the Bimhuis in Amsterdam, the Ante Medić Octet will be releasing their debut singles in the spring of 2024 through ZenneZ Records. Welcome the “jonge honden” of the Dutch jazz scene!
