The young Utrecht band MEERKAT is completely in tune with contemporary eclectic jazz that is currently echoing from cities such as London and Chicago. Think of names like Ezra Collective or Makaya McCraven. In addition to a lot of own work, this quintet also plays songs by McCraven, but also Nate Smith and Yussef Kamaal. Their mix of jazz, funk and hip hop can sound subtle, but also ruthlessly groovy and stimulates both the head and the body (especially the legs). Come and see Meerkat before Dizzy is too small for these ambitious young dogs.
Noam Bar makes angry woman music.
