Distinguished artist, double bassist, and composer Ben Tiberio has spent the past decade providing an essential voice to the elite circles of New York’s vibrant jazz scene. Ben’s accompaniment has become an integral part of the ensembles of the leading figures of his generation, including Joel Ross, Immanuel Wilkins, Veronica Swift, and María Grand. At the same time, he has appeared as a sideman alongside acclaimed bandleaders such as drummer Ari Hoenig, saxophonist Ben Wendel, and pianists Shai Maestro and Aaron Goldberg.
He has also had the opportunity to perform with a wide range of jazz legends, including Kenny Barron, Gretchen Parlato, Billy Hart, Jazzmeia Horn, Will Vinson, Johnathan Blake, and Terrell Stafford. Ben’s evolution into a skilled bandleader and composer is now convincingly documented with the release of his highly praised debut album *“Rare Peace”* (2021).
Ben’s music focuses on small moments of calm amid the chaos of big-city life. It can be characterized as highly energetic and rhythmically complex, yet grounded in deeply lyrical melodies and modest, evocative soundscapes.
